A small collaboration with Budapest Brand. They asked 12 artists to interpret the 12 points of the Hungarian Revolutionaries of 1848. ATLO was asked to interpret the 12th point on the list: union (with Transylvania). As there’s virtually no data about Hungary of that time (let it be demographic, ethnic, economic, etc.), we decided to focus on the visuality of the union: we inverted the 12th point, and reimagined the historical Hungarian borders without Transylvania ever being a part of it. This emptiness of Transylvania is thus pulls focus on the historical importance of the area being part of the Kingdom of Hungary. The billboard was showcased on Deák Ferenc Square in Budapest between 15th and 31st March. A small article about the project and the other billboards can be read here.
