BEFOGADÓ BUDAPEST: MAGYAR MENEKÜLTEK TRIANON UTÁN // HUNGARIAN MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES AFTER THE TREATY OF TRIANON

My first commissioned work at ATLO. We were approached by the Municipality of Budapest Mayor’s Office to create a video commemorating the Treaty of Trianon. It was based on Attila’s previous work of the same name, though that displayed all refugees coming to Hungary after 1920. Here, we only needed to focus on refugees coming to the capital city. The base map was created and designed in kepler.gl, then recorded with Bandicam, and edited with Premiere Pro. There were many versions with many requested changes, that resulted in doing the recording and editing process at least a dozen times. The final version then was projected on the outside wall of Mammut II Mall for hours, with a playlist consisting of Hungarian folk songs on repeat. The song in the online version is one of those songs that were played live.
